Spanish Conjugations and How You Can Master Them Quickly

Spanish Conjugations are, for many people, the hardest part of learning Spanish. They are often complex and extremely variable as is very often the case with the numerous irregular verbs that are common in the Spanish language and that are encountered on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, if learning to speak Spanish well is your goal, mastering Spanish verb conjugation is absolutely necessary and therefore extremely important.

The problem is that too many people, whose dreams are to become fluent speakers of Spanish, are ill prepared for the difficult task of learning to use Spanish verbs competently and correctly, and as a result of this, they simply give up!

Preparation is the key to success and having the right tools for the job will vastly improve the chances of successfully mastering Spanish conjugation and speaking Spanish fluently.

Until recently, the only way to prepare for learning Spanish verbs was to ensure you had a good old verb conjugation book. These books, which are still very important I hasten to add, contain page after page of verb tables, showing each one conjugated in all its various tenses, ideal for using as a reference tool but not so great for learning from!

I still have memories, as I’m sure you do, of unpleasant afternoons, sitting in a classroom reciting verb tables, over and over again…not very enjoyable at all, in fact, learning verb conjugations in this way almost put me off wanting to learn a different language altogether…almost, but not quite!

What is truly amazing is that there has been very little change in how verbs were learnt and in language teaching methods until very recently, and the one thing that changed all this was the increased ownership of the home computer.

The meteoric surge in PC ownership led to an equally rapid increase in the number of programs that were available to people learning Spanish. Initially though, learning verb conjugation changed very little and all that was available online to the Spanish learner were digital versions of the conjugation books they already had sitting on the shelf.

However, all that changed a few years ago when software developers and Spanish tutors put their collective heads together and realised that the Spanish language and, in particular, Spanish verbs were not going to change and become any easier to learn and that the only way to help students succeed at mastering Spanish conjugations quickly and more effectively was to make doing so a far more enjoyable experience.
